| My team - Department of Preventive Dentistry - belongs to the Heim Pál Children’s Hospital in Budapest. This Hospital is the largest Paediatric Centre in Hungary. The institute operates 13 inpatient departments and 38 clinics. Medical attendance is provided to approximately 19.000 inpatients and 300.000 outpatients on a yearly basis. Half of the patients come from Budapest and half of them from the provinces. The team members are 2 dentists, 4 dental hygienists and a number of contributing co-workers from and outside the hospital. Partnerships: Among others, we have good working relationship with the Semmelweis University and the National Institute of Stomatology. |

My name is Judit Szőke. I graduated from Semmelweis University School of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Budapest, Hungary. I got postgraduate degree in Paediatric Dentistry in 1975. Position: Honorary Associate Professor of Semmelweis University lectured to dental students, Chief Paedodontist in Budapest, Head of Department of Preventive Dentistry. Professional experiences: I participated several clinical studies (WHO Xylitol Field Studies In Hungary 1982-84., Effect of After-meal Sucrose-free Gum-chewing on Clinical Caries 1998-2000.) and in Hungarian Oral Health (Pathfinder) Surveys in 1985, 1991, 1996, 2001. |
I took part in Oral Health East Project and Health Promoting School Project for evaluation of knowledge, attitudes and practices related to oral health. Fields of interest: preventive dentistry, epidemiology, paediatric dentistry, public health. Publications: 5 bookchapters in Hungarian, 34 scientific papers in Hungarian, English and German languages. Memberships: National Board of Stomatology, Hungarian Dental Association (board member), Association of Preventive Dentistry (president) and European Association of Dental Public Health. |
